Men's wide-fit sneakers
Two models, both built wide, but labelled differently — and the labelling is where orders go wrong.
The road runner has the wide fit built into the last itself, so its sizes are plain numbers with no width letter. There is no narrow version to distinguish it from. The gym trainer spells the W out on the label instead, which makes ordering less of a guess but means nothing different about the shoe's intentions.
The runner is the softer of the two, with a 10 mm drop and a grooved rubber outsole. The trainer is firmer underfoot with full-length rubber, which is what you want under a barbell and not what you want at mile six.
Before you pick a colour
- A plain size number on the road runner is already the wide fit. Do not add a size for width.
- Both take the insole out for an orthotic or for extra depth.
- The road runner ships without a box, which is the manufacturer's packaging decision, not damage.
